Aceh Hip Hop Stars - HNS

Hip hop = rap with electronic backing. So what is special about it? With rapid development of global music, inevitably Aceh is also influenced by this popular music genre. The first and the biggest hip hop community in Aceh is HIPHOP NAD Syndicat (H.N.S).

Wow, Aceh actually has lot of talented stars and some creative guys (collaboration of the rappers from Aceh: Zico, AQ Flow, Macbee APPMc, Rizkal NS, Ramma D Flow, Cello APPMc, Lil Boy A.N.D) recycled a well-known Acehnese traditional  song, Ranup Lampuan with a remix in hip hop style. The result?

Nyawoung Aceh

Aceh has a number of talented artists especially in music. A well-known one, Nyawong, a group band with its main vocalist, Mukhlis, has contributed great songs that touch many hearts.  Those sung in Aceh language and expose Aceh condition in conflict era AND culture & tradition as well as way of life of Acehnese people.

I love and enjoy good music, so when the first time I listened to a song titled 'Kutidhing,' I was surprised at its powerful meaning and the beauty of a pure voice - it turned out that this talented singer, Liza Aulia, had released some great songs. Most of her songs show the appreciation on the unique culture of Aceh.
